The Position

We are looking for a new team member to help drive our rapidly expanding global ocean weather forecast capabilities. You will lead the development of large-scale atmospheric models and expand our surface wind forecasting capability through integration of state of the models and new data assimilation strategies. You will be part of a team that aims to create a revolutionary new approach to metocean forecasting, and are not afraid to try new approaches or abandon those that do not work. Most importantly, you are a quick learner, thrive in an environment that is focused on innovation and doing things differently, and you are excited about developing and applying new strategies to modeling and data interpretation across a breadth of applications.


  • Ensure that our ocean surface wind data is the best in the world
  • Develop our operational surface wind forecast model
  • Integrate data into the weather forecast
  • Ensure accuracy of our products.
  • Help create a revolutionary new approach to ocean weather modeling and forecasting capabilities!

Bonus Points

  • Java / Fortran / C  experience.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (or equivalent experience) in either Oceanography, Meteorology, physics, or related fields.
  • Expert knowledge in atmospheric modelling.
  • Extensive experience with a numerical weather forecast model.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Open to new ideas and willingness to learn new things.
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
