UNC-W Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Program

The University of North Carolina Wilmington's Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Program (CORMP), established in 2000, operates nine mooring stations throughout North and South Carolina.  The Sofar Spotter Platform helps CORMP collect near real-time data to enhance maritime safety, improve coastal hazard forecasting, support ecosystem management, and provide valuable insights into local climate patterns. As a member of Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (SECOORA), CORMP also collaborates with SECOORA to address national priorities in ocean observation.
